Dear Prime Time Player:
Thank you so much for writing for me! This is my second fic exchange but my first NPT, and I'm already excited for the work ahead of me.
First up, my general preferences and some notes:
Everything here is a guideline, of course. I'd love to see all the characters I named in the story, but it doesn't matter to me if their roles are big or small, as long as at least one requested character has a big role. I'm okay with character studies just over 1000 words or epic longfic or anything in between. As far as genres, I love gen friendship, casefic, fluff, romance, action-adventure. I'm not too big on horror or really depressing endings, but if the writing takes you there I'll give it a try!
As far as pairings, het, slash, femslash and polyamory are all cool with me! If there are any specific pairings I really dislike, they'll be listed under the prompt.
Now here's the specifics:
Request 1: Elementary (TV)
Characters: Sherlock Holmes, Joan Watson, and Marcus Bell
These three make the show totally worthwhile for me. I loved the tension and development Sherlock and Marcus went through this season, I love how Marcus and Joan are becoming real friends, and of course I love the bond between Sherlock and Joan.
Fics I would love about them: trio on an adventure---it could be as silly as shopping for cutlery, or an exotic vacation, even bonding over trauma and guilt---all three of them could participate, I think. Their little squabbles over the silliest things are fun too. And if for some reason you're inspired to write OT3 shipping, I wouldn't mind. All possible pairs of them are awesome too!
Bonus points if Marcus and Joan save Sherlock's behind and he lavishes love on them in his...special way.
Request 2: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Characters: Cloud Strife, Aerith Gainsborough, and Tifa Lockhart
Ah, Final Fantasy VII. Game of my childhood, characters I still adore all these years later. I love the story of renewed hope and life going on in this game, and the characters always pull through in the end----especially Aerith, who has quite a few obstacles to surpass!
Fics I would love: Aerith's thoughts and actions over the two years between the game and the film, and during: how close is she to the living world? Has she tried to communicate with others beside Cloud? (There are hints in the novellas that she's also close to Tifa and if you could expand on that it would be awesomesauce.)
Stories of the Avalanche group coming back together after the film would be fantastic too. How are they doing now? Is it weird for Cloud to be back in the house? Are they finally able to be happy? ...and if you want to come up with some completely ridiculous reason to resurrect Aerith, go for it.
As far as my shipping preferences: I ship this group in any combination. Cloud/Aerith/Tifa is an OT3 of mine as well. I've been right in the thick of the LTD and I know the wars are still intense, but I love everything. If you're a diehard Clerith or a Cloti, though, as long as character bashing is avoided I'll be happy.
Oh, and if you've always spelled her name Aeris, you don't have to change the spelling for me. Both names are good.
Request 3: Final Fantasy X
Characters: Any
I'm not too picky about characters for this game! Of all the Final Fantasy games I've played, this is my favorite cast. The possibilities are endless! Here's a sampling of some of my favorite fic ideas:
-AU where Tidus actually gets to take Yuna to his Zanarkand and they get to watch Blitzball and party all night.
-Auron is repeatedly asked for advice on ridiculously minor things on his pilgrimages, like he's Dear Abby or something. Probably works better with Yuna's pilgrimage, but Braska's works too
-Snippets from the life of Kimahri and the young Yuna
-Yuna, Rikku, and Lulu have a ladies' night out. Could be an interesting contrast from YRP in FFX-2, as Lulu's a little wiser and wittier than Paine---but Yuna and Rikku could have even more fun teasing a little!
-Snippets from Braska's pilgrimage: Jecht and Braska are very different, but they're both parents (and Auron is but he doesn't know it---but, uh, you can ignore that bit of new 'canon' if you want to). Do they talk about their families? Does Auron angrily snap them back to the present only to show a protective streak for Spira's children?
Or anything else. I do love Tidus/Yuna and would love to see them together if they're featured in your story, but I don't really have any other pro or anti shipping preferences.
Request 4: Pacific Rim
Characters: Raleigh Becket, Mako Mori, and Stacker Pentecost:
Ah, kaiju-punching robots. This film with characters I'm surprisingly attached to. I picked my three favorite characters, but feel free to focus on any one or two, or expand the circle if you like!
Here are some fics I'd love:
-Snippets from Mako's childhood starring Stacker as a struggling father
-A focus on both Raleigh and Mako's relationships with Stacker
-Either of the Gipsy Danger team are forced to Drift with Stacker and interesting things happen?
Action is definitely welcome in a Pacific Rim fic, of course. I love fluff and drama too, and you're welcome to include any other characters in the big old Shatterdome family. I ship Raleigh/Mako but their platonic friendship is just as awesome.
I'm really not fond of Herc/Chuck, but any other pairing won't bother me.
